Explore STEAM, the training of the future.

The world around us changes so rapidly that if you blink, you might miss it. Just two days ago, we couldn't conceive the existence of a robot assistant like ChatGPT, capable of composing human-like text in just a few seconds, yet millions of users now enjoy this capability. In an increasingly updated, electronic, and technological world, being prepared for change is essential, and that's precisely what STEAM education provides.

Originally conceived in the 1990s by the National Science Foundation (NSF), it was dubbed STEM — Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics. Its goal was to stimulate students' interest in science and technical careers, which it succeeded in achieving.

Later, in 2006, Georgette Yakman coined the term "STE(A)M," adding artistic education to the educational model to give it more creative weight, ultimately becoming STEAM. With this new integration, it was possible to incorporate intrinsic values of art: creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and autonomy. In other words, it's an educational approach that focuses on problem-solving and promotes student independence.

Currently, this method seeks to be employed on a national level. Various educational institutions implement this methodology with the aim of preparing young people for the world they will face, focusing their efforts on promoting education that prioritizes problem-solving and sustainable development goals. This movement is referred to as the "maker culture" in which young (and not so young) individuals experiment with 3D printing and design, programming, electronics, robotics, and even digital manufacturing.

Knowing this, it's natural to wonder where you can study STEAM education. Is it offered in person, or can you find it online? In response to these questions, many companies are offering these courses and classes predominantly online, through the use of digital platforms or e-learning. The importance of this type of education primarily lies in its close relationship with the digital transformation we are experiencing, as well as the development of advanced language models. This is why at

Academia Maker we take pride in providing a digital e-learning platform where our students can receive professional, up-to-date, and high-quality education. A place where you can find a course tailored to you, whether you want to learn from scratch or expand your knowledge.

Understanding how these models work, their utility, and applications, as well as the technical aspects that surround them, is and will be crucial for the jobs of the future. Engineering and mathematics form the foundation upon which the digital revolution is being built. Science plays a fundamental role in comprehending and developing increasingly powerful technology, all topped off by the creative and critical perspective of art.

The world is changing by leaps and bounds; thus, digital education with a STEAM methodology is the key that opens the doors to an ever-approaching future.
